There is nothing quite like scent to stir up sweet childhood memories, enhance comfort and relaxation, or uplift us and bring pleasant anticipation. Here are some fresh ideas for spring:
For a dreamy night’s sleep, add a drop of pure Essential Oil to a cotton ball and tuck it inside your pillow case. Some relaxing choices are Lavender, Neroli, Chamomile and Benzoin. For sleep time it is best to avoid stimulating oils such as Peppermint, Eucalyptus and Rosemary.
Eucalyptus, Lemongrass or Juniper Essential Oil can add enhanced cleaning action and a fresh scent to your favourite natural household cleaner, or try Lemon Essential Oil as a gentle option to add to natural laundry detergent. About 2-3 drops per half cup of cleaning liquid should do the trick.
My first choices for perfume are always Subtle Aromatherapy Oils, as they are free of harsh man-made chemical compositions and have a wonderful vibration straight from Mother Nature herself. Some fragrant and uplifting options include Bergamot, Petigrain and Sandalwood. Subtle Aromatherapy Oils are made from essential oils and diluted considerably in carrier oils (never put undiluted essential oils directly on the skin and be sure to purchase your oils from a reputable source).
