Is your Inner Commentary Twisting your Hose?

positive self talkWe’ve all got some kind of running commentary in our heads, acting like the voiceover to our personal life movie. For some it runs from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep. For others, especially if you’ve done a certain amount of meditation or inner-work, the commentary has long periods of silence but still pipes up every now and again responding to some challenging situation. The commentary can range from the mundane, running through to do lists, to profound insights and ideas directed by our intuition or higher consciousness.

The type of commentary that is most common however, and the most debilitating, is negative self-talk. We may not even realise the way in which we speak to ourselves, but next time you suddenly feel your mood change, a wave of anger, depression, anxiety or some other emotion taking a hold of you, your body tense up or feel heavy, your solar plexus knot up, your neck tighten – try to remember what thoughts you were just having. Try to remember beyond the topic you were thinking about – let’s say it was worrying about money. What was your commentary saying exactly? “I never have enough”? “Life is always such a struggle?”

We hear these thoughts and believe that they are our truth, because they are reflecting how we think or feel about something in that moment. So we just let the commentary tape keep playing because we assume it’s just voicing what we’re thinking and feeling.

The problem with this is that our commentary tape is not only voicing what we’re thinking and feeling in that moment. The tape is also voicing thoughts and beliefs based on experiences that happened years ago, generations ago to our ancestors and even lifetimes ago! Further, our commentary tape is sending its message forward into our tomorrows! It’s as if it is sending the script for tomorrow’s scenes out ahead of us. We think we show up each morning with a blank page, ready to start fresh, but not so. We actually already have the energetic script set up for us, which we pre-wrote with our former thoughts/beliefs/wounds etc and our physical has to play out to match it. So our yesterday’s thoughts of ‘Life is always such a struggle’ set up situations for us in our today’s and tomorrow’s that are a physical match to that. The physical isn’t punishing us or judging us, it’s just responding in the exact same way the props guys and actors and wardrobe department respond to whatever directives have been put out by the screenwriters and film director.

The good thing about this knowledge is that we can change our energetic script anytime. We can replace the negative self-talk with positive self-talk – or even silence is a better alternative if positive self-talk is too big a stretch right now.

Imagining something you enjoy like the beach or a fun activity, is another better alternative. You can picture a big red stop sign and say stop in your mind anytime you catch yourself saying something negative about yourself, and if you go blank after that it’s okay.

There’s a lot of emphasis out there on positive self-talk, but it’s okay to have a bridge until you can get to the positive stuff. The bridge acts like a circuit breaker, disconnecting you in that moment from the negative stuff. In that moment of disconnection, you’re automatically shifted into your authentic flow space so positive self-talk is more of an optional extra choice anyway rather than mandatory.

vitalityThink of yourself as being part of a long hose connected up to Source Energy. When you go into negative self-talk, you’re twisting the hose making it really difficult for good stuff to flow through to you: wellbeing, happy feelings, abundance, opportunities. When you let go of the negative stuff, the hose untwists and goes back to it’s normal flow state. We don’t really have to do anything or say anything special to be in our optimal state – it’s more that we need to learn how to stop doing whatever it is that blocks us from our optimal state.

So it’s very empowering to find out: in which ways do you twist your hose? Do you get caught up in negative thoughts and self-talk? Did you know that just because you think something about yourself, it doesn’t mean it’s true! Just because you think “I’m such an idiot” or “I’m not good enough” doesn’t mean you have to believe it. It’s okay to say to the part of yourself that tells you regularly “I’m not good enough”: “I AM good enough.” It’s okay to say to the part of yourself that has as it’s daily mantra “We never have enough money”: “We are always taken care of.” If that feels like a lie, try another tactic. Come from a more proactive stance: “I now open to new ways of receiving, so that we always have enough. Thank you.”

Over this next week pay attention to your inner commentary. Pay attention to your moods and feelings and check into what kind of thoughts led up to those feelings. Our inner commentary tape has a lot of gifts and messages for us, but left unattended it can run amok and re-create situations and patterns in our life that have long passed their use by date. It’s up to us to check in with it regularly.

2013 Keys to Healing & Balance

Hello friends. Welcome to 2013 – the Year of the Water Snake. After talking to a few people who have expressed some concerns, I decided to explore the topic of healing and balance. For many, 2012 was a difficult, even traumatic year. There were also many people that transitioned in 2012, and some of these were young people, or others who death came at a great shock. There have also been losses of other kinds due to economics, unemployment, natural disasters and other issues. The challenge for many of us is to stay *present* and not to get lost in energies of thoughts of the past while still being open to the truth of what we are feeling, as denial is not conducive to healing.

I see the Snake Medicine that 2013 brings can be of great benefit to us. On the high side of this energy it is all about healing, magic, higher consciousness and transformation. Since 2010 especially, we have been undergoing a significant transformation personally and collectively. It will continue to important to avoid the low/shadow side of the Snake energy which is related to deception, indolence, trickery and ‘taking the easy way out’ spiritually, through manipulative or otherwise nefarious means. By now we have gotten used to doing the work that true spiritual growth requires, so we have had some good training and preparation for this time.

In my work with the Akashic Wisdom Keepers over the years I have been shown something called the Physical Avatar. This is an energetic structure in Spirit that works with the emotional and physical health of a person and is highly intelligent and dynamic. It is an aspect of the Oversoul that is outside of mind and emotion and can often see the bigger picture or lesson of what is going on. As we evolve and grow as human beings as part of our awakening process we no longer have to be victim to illness of dis-ease, and have tools to get at the root of the problem: whether it be genetic, karmic, mental and so forth.

I have also been in communication with the General Physical Avatar of the All in the Akashic Records and it shared this helpful information for our benefit:

    1. The challenge of 2013 is to *release* all that has gone before. To allow yourself to grieve and feel, as it is important to not deny emotion, but it is also important to not *dwell* in them either.

    2. Clean and pure WATER will be especially significant as a cleanser of toxins out of the body and also out of the planet. In the physical body the organs related to water are the bladder and kidneys. According to Chinese Medicine these organs are related to anger and fear, so it will also be important to keep emotional balance in those areas; not only personally, but collectively also.

    3. Gathering the Heart: 2013 is a Universal ‘6’ Year which rules harmony, compassion and goodwill towards others. Generating heart power through compassion, meditation, light work and service to others will be keys to not only our own health and happiness, but also for the all.

    4. It is important to continue to MOVE energies out of the body via exercise and also spiritual means. Excessive fatigue (if not related to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or other medical issues) is often a sign that the body may be bogged down with too much energetic material to process. The cleaner we can keep our energy field, the better. While this is especially important to the empathic and highly sensitive, it will also be increasingly important to everyone; as the new, higher frequencies impacting planet are continuing to affect us and our spiritual process of transformation. I have shared a technique below to assist in this area.

Physical Avatar Technique of Chakra & Aura Cleansing

    1. Set sacred space by burning sage or cedar, lighting a candle, etc. Be sure to shut off cell phones and find a quiet working space where you will not be disturbed.

    2. Say aloud or through intention: “I invoke my Physical Avatar that holds the knowledge of my optimum health to oversee this session. I call upon my highest level Angels, Guides and Loved Ones to be present with me also. I am open to any and all information that they wish to share with me today. I set this sacred space with divine intention for my highest and best health on all levels: emotional, mental, spiritual and physical.”

    3. Starting at the Crown Chakra (on top of the head), intend that *any* and *all* mis-qualified energies, emotions and thought forms that are no longer serving the highest loving context for your life, be released to the Violet Flame of Transmutation. This also includes the emotions and thought forms of others (this is especially important for those that identify as empathic and/or highly sensitive.)

    Nautilus Shell4. Go through each chakra (energy center of the body). Do not rush and take your time with this. Allow any emotion to come up and out, and do your best to not judge any of this material as it appears to you. Have paper and pen nearby to jot down any intuitive impressions you may receive in the session. The symbol that I was given for this process is the nautilus shell (depicted here). Feel free to use this symbol in this process as you are so guided.

    5. Now visualize and/or intend that the highest frequency healing light is circling through your aura in a front-to-back motion. White, gold and/or violet are good color rays to work with as they are of a universal and high frequency, but please do work with whatever color you are guided to for you. Start at the head and going down the front of your body all the way to the Earth Star Chakra in the earth below your feet and back up again. Sit with these energies as long as you are guided.

    6. When you feel complete, thank the light beings and your Physical Avatar for being present, and close the session. It is a positive practice to dedicate the work to all sentient beings, or otherwise offer a blessing for all.

11 Tips for a MultiDimensional Life

multidimensionsThere are a grand many experiencing a beautiful awakening now…each of us in our own time healing hurts, removing blinders, and learning to see and act in true loving, spiritual and cosmic consciousness. Here are a few tips to assist us in our unfolding into a multidimensional way of life:

1. Be the Love: Let love flow through you, in and out of you, all around you, and cocooning you. You are beloved. Be loving to yourself. Be glorious in who you are. Broadcast it with love. Go forward freely. Launch forward on your journey in love. Walk surrounded in the love that you are.

2. Communications of Grace: Carry out each conversation as if it was your last. Treat the person that you are communicating with, with the full honour that their soul deserves, and as your soul sees them. Speak to them as you truly are, and as your soul truly sees them. Honour them.

3. Helping Others: Many are asking how to help others who don’t see their choice to take empowered action. Quite simply, making a life of our choosing is the most powerful teacher. Be there for others, surround them in love, but allow them the journey they choose. Trust yourself when you feel there is a moment where you can show there is choice, but do this without judgement or stating a ‘correct’ choice. We may not like their choices, but inadvertently imposing our will is not helpful to their soul.

4. Which Drama Will You Choose?: Imagine two great dramas playing out along the lines of time. One allows you to play an active role and determine the visuals around you. The other drama is one that appears as if you have no choice, doesn’t play by any rules, and doesn’t make any sense in terms of how the universe was created. Which one will you follow? Those that are choosing an epidemic of panic and struggle, an easy time does not await them. We have the choice to walk forward in joy, and to go through transitions in an empowered and less resistant manner. Those who see this time as one with a gateway to transcendence, as one filled with tremendous opportunity, shall experience this surely.

5. Honour Your Truth: The new energies we’re in ask us to not allow the comforts of apparent truths to dictate our reality. The truth we’re in charge of. It’s our responsibility to explore, witness, and maintain it. As well…to speak, feel, and do it. Be willing first to see truth within yourself, and secondly within your relationships. As you see these truths, be willing to act on what you find, centering you in empowered living.

6. Embracing Change: The changes occurring in our plane of existence are a wonderful opportunity for release-ment of all that holds us back from our ultimate potential. Change is all around us, and here to stay. Set your heart and intention on change. In doing so, you will experience the type of change that is soulful and just perfect for you in each moment. Launch yourself freely towards the ecstasy of transformation.

7. Moving Through Hurts: When you examine your heart, what is it that hurts most inside? Many are finding that any inner work required must be faced quite directly at this time. This can be extremely challenging, yet this is also a tremendous gift of cosmic support for rapid progress. In healing, act with conviction. When you’re free of the past, you’re free to experience even more beauty to unfold in your life.

8. Break Free: It’s not the time to look back or feel, “I have come so far, so why am I still facing this”? Ask that your blinders be removed and trust you’re about to break free completely of all that has bound you. We’re not as separate from everyone as it has appeared, and you can soon break through any barriers to experience a conscious link with the love and resources of the world’s soul.

9. Open to All Beings: Act in tolerance of all Earth’s creatures. There are many loving souls around you that are supporting you. Begin to welcome them. Begin to open yourself to possibility.

10. Togetherness: Share your stories and the struggles too (in a means of viewing it outside yourself the best you can), because you’re going to find a grand many going through the same thing. Trust that you are matched with people along your day-to-day journey that can help you through it. You can act as a mirror for each other, or one person can lift up the other and the cycle continues. Everyone gets to play a role of service, may learn/grow, and feel the love/support of others.

11. Training Wings: Honour your own ebb and flow, and be gentle with yourself as you learn to maintain a higher vibration. It is okay that at the moment, as you are harnessing these new energies, you may find yourself feeling as if you are extending from one end of the spectrum to another. When this happens, do not judge it. Take some breaths, and give yourself time and permission to then find your way back to centre.

Creating a Safe Haven in Meditation

zen livingThrough a regular meditation practice, we can connect with that ‘all is well’ feeling and way of living. Here are some tips for personal enjoyment and comfort while meditating:

  • During guided meditation, always change up any words to suit you.
  • If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it…your way is the right way for you.
  • Being comfortable is ultimately more important than mastering some type of meditation pose or new technique. Sit comfortably.
  • Stop judging your practice. You showed up, and that’s wonderful. And if you didn’t, your meditation practice will greet you with open arms when you are ready to resume or begin.
  • Hold the intention and trust that you are safe and protected at all times. If you have a lot of fear around meditation, intuition or group situations, part of your self-care may involve seeking help to heal this.
  • Through meditation we often receive clarity on necessary healing and the action steps required to move us forward…be gentle as you transform this so you are not creating new wounds through self-blame.

The Highest Outcome for Yourself & Another

tips for connecting to another’s higher self

The Highest Outcome for Yourself & Another ~ InnerVitalityA wonderful way to find clarity and healing in a relationship, including with a loved one who’s passed or someone you are no longer in touch with, is to connect with their higher self and begin a dialoging process. If you have an important decision to make or upcoming discussion in a relationship (whether it be with a friend, significant other, family member or in business), this process may also provide some of the insight and higher purpose knowledge that will help you in proceeding in a manner in the best interest of both of you.

Of course, permission must always be sought when connecting to another, and this can be done intuitively.

1. To begin, you may wish to set the mood for meditation, whatever it is you like to do…relaxing music, candle, soft lighting, pleasant scent.
2. Get comfortable and centre yourself. Connect with your breath and close your eyes if you like (or bring your gaze to a soft focus if you are reading).
3. Ask to set aside your ego, and state your intention to connect to your higher self. You may wish to invite in any angels or guides you connect with. Imagine yourself surrounded in white light.
4. See an image of the person you wish to connect with in your mind’s eye; see them surrounded with light. If you do not sense the other person, ask to be given a scent, sound, shape or colour symbolic of their higher self; invite them to come forward. Ask their permission to connect to their higher self. Trust what you sense.
5. If you hear, feel or sense a ‘no’ response, then allow them this right, as it may not be the best time. Try this process at another time if you wish. You can still surround this situation/relationship with an intention of healing (or the best possible outcome for both of you) ~ that in itself brings wonderful transformational energy.
6. If you feel there is a ‘yes’ answer, you may proceed forward.
7. Begin to speak with them. Tell them anything you wish to express. Any questions you have can be asked now. You can even sense a response or words. Find clarity on how they view the situation. Interestingly, the way the other’s higher self communicates still reflects some of their personality, and you may even sense a certain tone to their voice, specific words or energy or mannerisms that make sense for them.
8. Even if you feel you are making this process up, there is valuable information here. If you don’t feel you are hearing a specific answer, examine their energy ~ you may find the answer in how they present themselves. You may also ask that communication between you two happen in your dream state, or ask that guidance/answers be presented to you in the coming week. Trust that you will find clarity/healing and be open to however it comes.
9. Some questions you may wish to ask are: a) How do you view this situation/relationship? b) What is/was your intention? c) What learning is this relationship/situation providing for you? Ask your own higher self the purpose for you. d) What can their higher self tell you that will provide you with more understanding/healing? e) Ask, what do you need from me and tell them what you need from them. f) How can we heal this? How is best to move forward? What one action today will help us move forward?
10. If this is a person that hurt you, you may wish to get some feelings out: a) What do you most need to tell them? Say this now. You are safe here to do this now. b) What positive qualities have you gained from the situation…strength, compassion, courage, resolve? 11. When you are done dialoguing, thank their higher self for connecting with you. Thank any guides and angels that were present. Thank yourself for taking the time to learn, heal and grow.
12. Come back gently now, beginning to move your hands and feet. Open your eyes (or bring the room more into focus) when you are ready. To further ground, you may wish to put your right hand on the crown of your head and your left hand at the base of your spine.

We hope this process has brought you some insight and healing. Holding the intention of everyone’s highest good is a wonderful way to release restrictions and smooth the path ahead. Don’t be surprised if you notice a marked improvement in this relationship or your feelings towards them. It is not uncommon to hear from the other person after this process, even if you have not for a while (they will have felt your energetic connection at some level). Know that you can do this process again with anyone at anytime with their permission. Transformation, guidance and healing are always available so that we may truly move forward, embracing the present moment and all that life has to offer!
