10 Tips for a Fabulous Summer

Feel Connected, Wherever You Are

summer tips Transport your home office to the park, beach or lake for the day. What better place to brainstorm or get organized than out in nature, inspired by the natural beauty and order of things!

Make room for spontaneity. From May onwards, I have a picnic blanket in my trunk, hiking shoes, maps, and yoga gear all ready for spur of the moment fun. If you’ve never stretched out a map, closed your eyes and pointed…you have to try it for a fabulous day trip! It’s an amazing reminder of the fun we can create along the journey.

Try at least one thing that scares you, but secretly thrills you in a zest for life kind of way. WOW, will you feel good after, when you feel some mastery over your fear, and have been taking steps to live your life so fully!

Create a neighbourhood bucket list of all places you’d like to check out or revisit. In many trips abroad I was always surprised by how many locals hadn’t been to the most fabulous places in their own back yard, and made a note to explore the local treasures right under my own nose too. Each item you check off can bring more appreciation of where you are right now, and feeling more connected to your community.

Engage all your senses consciously for at least a few moments every day. Literally stop and smell the roses, the scent of rain on its way, your fresh laundry. Notice what visually catches your attention too, as that’s what will harmonize you. Recently I’ve been drawn to pink and orange — not usual colours for me, but they seem to be bringing healing waves of unconditional love and joy. I’ll take it!

We have a universal need for touch, protection, and connection. Self-help expert Laura Day invites us to check in on these themes day to day. What texture do you want to wrap yourself in or how do you want to touch or be touched? What step would make you feel more protected right now? How are you being urged to connect?

Reflect on memories of pleasure. Allow 1 or 2 pleasant memories to come forward, remembering everything you experienced moment to moment…taste, touch, sounds, scents, and visuals. Now try to bring some of those ideas into every day tasks, and watch yourself enjoy them more!

Meditate to reconnect with the real you. Beginner meditators learn relaxation techniques to let go of stress and and enjoy a pleasant escape from the pressures of life. What’s so amazing, is that as our journey progresses, we’re able to experience those sweet moments more and more often whether we’re in meditation or not. Instead of meditation being an ‘escape’, we actually experience what’s real — no longer disconnected and ruled by fear, but aligned with the peaceful wisdom of our soul and the innate freedom within.

Spread the love and good cheer! The next time someone asks you how you are, if you’re feeling just how sweet life is, truly share your enthusiasm (and theirs). Have you noticed that we can’t help but smile when we see others laughing and having fun? Throw your arms around the world, and let those giggles out!

“I create pleasure and the state of love in my life every day.” I love this affirmation from Laura Day! Can you feel the words come to life in your body? Try writing the affirmation you love on a sticky note so you see and repeat it often.

Here’s to a fabulous season! If you’re nearby, I’d love to see you at InnerVitality’s Summer Series in Toronto!

Exquisite Risk

A guest message by Mark Nepo. An excerpt from his book, ‘The Exquisite Risk: Daring to Live an Authentic Life’

finding joyRecently, I had an old tooth go bad. It was abscessed and this pressured ache kept building from some elusive spot inside my head. It felt like my deepest moments of doubt. As I waited inside the specialist’s office, I was growing more and more anxious. It’s such a strange journey to be spirit in a body. The Sufis compare it to an invisible bird carried for years within a body of a bird. But the longer I am alive, the harder it is to discern between the two, and the more grateful I am for both.

So there I was, fighting off the memories of my cancer journey, trying to breathe through the pain, and falling into the fear that feeds on poor waiting. In an effort to distract myself, I paged through a book of nature photographs and came upon a full-page color still of a meadowlark. This delicate songbird had climbed the tallest stalk in a wildflower patch, its small talons gripping the stalk tightly in the midst of sudden wind. While its talons were clinging sideways, its body was leaning upright and its head was singing full to the sky.

I realized that the meadowlark holds on, in the smallest storm, in order to sing. Isn’t this what we do — hold on and sing? Isn’t this the art of suffering our way into joy? And if we only hold, don’t we miss the point of our existence? This tiny bird was a teaching from God.

It was then that the doctor’s assistant called my name. Feeling tiny myself, I closed the book, knowing that this was a piece of truth given just in time. For the next three hours they extracted the dying nerve from my mouth, and I held on like a meadowlark, my body slightly twisted as I tried to let my spirit sing. And from that in-between space, floating softly within my pain, I saw how kind this man was who was tending me. Though his eyes were intent on the thin canals inside my tooth, I saw behind his focus to his soft place. It was there that we’d known each other deeply, though we’d never met.

Suddenly, with a rubber gauze covering my mouth, I understood how cautious we are on the surface, and how kind and willing underneath. It is often when in need — when too sad to keep the mask in place, too tired to keep the wall propped up, too wounded to lift the sword — often it is then that we glimpse each other as we really are, stripped of all the things we think we need to protect ourselves. Ironically, once flushed out in the open, it is from the soft place that we guard and hide that kindness seeks kindness, and we are just thankful to be helped along.

Blessed Be Your Wellness

This message from spirit also appears on our sister blog, SatyaSoul ~ your loving source for channeled messages and intuitive development tips.

do this even before reaching for your natural cures…

Blessed Be Your Wellness ~ InnerVitality1. When you are not feeling well, it is wise, fitting, and healing to follow your inner intuition and move, smooth, or shift anything you sense in your aura or the surface of your body with your hands. Your attention, your touch, and your awareness brings about a shift. Use your hands to help clear what is hanging about in your field. Great for daily self-care and most especially when you are down and out with a cold, illness or physical discomfort. Might we suggest you do this first before reaching into your medicine cabinet, even before your natural cures, as this activity will strengthen / purify / clarify / shield you from all else that follows. It is a way to instantly strengthen all energetic bodies ~ the connection of body, emotion, mind, and spirit that keep you whole, that is your wholeness, that is your expression of the human you. So, Dear Ones, that is one tip for you ~ a reminder for some and a poignant point for others.

2. The next tips is to do that which brings you passion. Yes, even in a weakened immune state, find a way to connect with a hobby, a treasured pet, or activity. This connects you to joy and creativity energy, to the spirit within ~ which, therefore, naturally aligns you to the spirit with’out’…the spirit in all living things, the spirit of all consciousness, the spirit of you. Many don’t feel up to or feel they have time for a creative hobby when they are not feeling their wellest, but may we remind you ~ this is a surefire way to bring you balance, back into your state of wholeness, which enables you then when well and rested to get back to daily routines, daily chores, and requirements.

And you see Loved Ones, had you not departed from your sense of wholeness, from your passionate expression of who you are ~ you would not have succumbed to un-ease at all. But we say this not for others, for you, to find fault within. We say this to encourage your greater harmony, your greater expression of truth and the love and light that you are.

So be well Dear Children, be well within, be well and be wise to the words and deeds of truth. Your healing and your optimal living and joy are always held with the ultimate focus, support and attention by the Lords, the Angels and All That Is.

It is some of the Lords of Neighbouring Planets that have come together today to speak of your healing, and it is I, Lord Arcturius, who speaketh now. I am holding the energy for this group channel at this time. We all wish your wellest selves. Blessed be ~ it is so. Go merrily and whole-heartedly on your way Children!

Lighting the Way Forward

InnerVitality ~ Lighting the Way ForwardWe are pleased to share a beautiful excerpt from LuminEssence with you:

You may be sensing changes that you want to make in your life to experience more joy and wholeness. You may feel a call to expand and grow, to reach others with your work, and to follow your higher path….

The energy present lights up new paths and directions. This new light reaches deep into your heart and brings the desires and dreams of your soul and Higher Self to consciousness. It lights up those things that are not of your soul so you will feel less energy or desire to do them…. It can stimulate your desire to start living your dreams and to follow your joy. You may be sensing that something better exists, something you could be doing that would bring you so much aliveness and joy that you could not wait to get up in the morning and begin the day. It is only when you know and live your life purpose that you have the joy, aliveness, and inner peace that makes it possible to know and to live as your soul.

Knowing and living your life purpose does not mean that you have to change your job or make any outer changes. When you know your purpose, the same activities that once felt boring or draining can take on all new meaning, and you can feel a sense of joy and aliveness in doing them….

To find the joy that is in this wave is to surrender to and follow your joy…. You deserve to have a life that fulfills you at your deepest levels. It is also important to love yourself for what you have already created. Take a moment to reflect on all you have done, and to appreciate yourself for coming as far as you have.*

InnerVitality invites you to intend positive inner change and fresh new beginnings in the days ahead. As Esther and Jerry Hicks so beautifully write, “When a desire is focused within you, the summoning of Creative Life Force immediately begins to flow toward your desire ~ and the Universe expands. And that is good.”
