10 Tips for a Fabulous Summer

Feel Connected, Wherever You Are

summer tips Transport your home office to the park, beach or lake for the day. What better place to brainstorm or get organized than out in nature, inspired by the natural beauty and order of things!

Make room for spontaneity. From May onwards, I have a picnic blanket in my trunk, hiking shoes, maps, and yoga gear all ready for spur of the moment fun. If you’ve never stretched out a map, closed your eyes and pointed…you have to try it for a fabulous day trip! It’s an amazing reminder of the fun we can create along the journey.

Try at least one thing that scares you, but secretly thrills you in a zest for life kind of way. WOW, will you feel good after, when you feel some mastery over your fear, and have been taking steps to live your life so fully!

Create a neighbourhood bucket list of all places you’d like to check out or revisit. In many trips abroad I was always surprised by how many locals hadn’t been to the most fabulous places in their own back yard, and made a note to explore the local treasures right under my own nose too. Each item you check off can bring more appreciation of where you are right now, and feeling more connected to your community.

Engage all your senses consciously for at least a few moments every day. Literally stop and smell the roses, the scent of rain on its way, your fresh laundry. Notice what visually catches your attention too, as that’s what will harmonize you. Recently I’ve been drawn to pink and orange — not usual colours for me, but they seem to be bringing healing waves of unconditional love and joy. I’ll take it!

We have a universal need for touch, protection, and connection. Self-help expert Laura Day invites us to check in on these themes day to day. What texture do you want to wrap yourself in or how do you want to touch or be touched? What step would make you feel more protected right now? How are you being urged to connect?

Reflect on memories of pleasure. Allow 1 or 2 pleasant memories to come forward, remembering everything you experienced moment to moment…taste, touch, sounds, scents, and visuals. Now try to bring some of those ideas into every day tasks, and watch yourself enjoy them more!

Meditate to reconnect with the real you. Beginner meditators learn relaxation techniques to let go of stress and and enjoy a pleasant escape from the pressures of life. What’s so amazing, is that as our journey progresses, we’re able to experience those sweet moments more and more often whether we’re in meditation or not. Instead of meditation being an ‘escape’, we actually experience what’s real — no longer disconnected and ruled by fear, but aligned with the peaceful wisdom of our soul and the innate freedom within.

Spread the love and good cheer! The next time someone asks you how you are, if you’re feeling just how sweet life is, truly share your enthusiasm (and theirs). Have you noticed that we can’t help but smile when we see others laughing and having fun? Throw your arms around the world, and let those giggles out!

“I create pleasure and the state of love in my life every day.” I love this affirmation from Laura Day! Can you feel the words come to life in your body? Try writing the affirmation you love on a sticky note so you see and repeat it often.

Getting Warm on the Inside

warm teaIf you’re often chilled in the winter, top up on warm foods. Eliminate iced drinks and raw foods for a while, and keep your insides nurtured with hot beverages and cooked seasonal foods, including lots of root vegetables.

CHOOSING CRYSTALS
Trust your instincts. If you are in a crystal shop, sense which crystal(s) you are naturally drawn to and that feel good in your palm. Each crystal has a unique energy field ~ you’ll notice that certain crystals will ‘speak to you’ or you may feel an ideal temperature or tingling in your hand when you touch it. Research which crystals are good for any ailments/situations you are experiencing. If you find yourself repelled by one of the listed crystals when you feel its energy or view it…connect in and intuit whether it is actually a good fit for you (sometimes we are repelled by what we most need in order to heal). You may also wish to use a pendulum or muscle testing to determine whether a crystal will be beneficial for you to work with.

Buy your crystals from a reputable supplier, preferably in-store, or if you prefer to order on-line, get a referral from someone else who has used that particular company.

HOW TO STORE & CLEANSE YOUR CRYSTALS
Crystals love to be stored in sunlight and open spaces. When transporting your crystal, store it in a natural fabric such as silk or cotton, and/or a wood container. Remember to protect the points of crystals (and never aim a pointed end directly at a person or animal without previous training in the use of crystals).

After using a crystal in healing, or after bringing a crystal out of storage, you will want to cleanse it by:

  • Placing it in the sun (some crystals alternatively do well in the moonlight)
  • Performing Reiki on it or visualizing white light surrounding it
  • Using your breath or smudging (ie. sweetgrass or sage) to clear it
  • Placing it near a Quartz Crystal or inside a Geode
  • Covering it in sea salt, brown rice, or in the earth for a few days

Trust your instincts on when a crystal needs cleansing, and which method will work best for that particular crystal (or research it).

When you are not feeling well, it is wise, fitting, and healing to follow your inner intuition and move, smooth, or shift anything you sense in your aura or the surface of your body with your hands. Your attention, your touch, and your awareness brings about a shift. Use your hands to help clear what is hanging about in your field. Great for daily self-care and most especially when you are down and out with a cold, illness or physical discomfort. Might we suggest you do this first before reaching into your medicine cabinet, even before your natural cures, as this activity will strengthen / purify / clarify / shield you from all else that follows. It is a way to instantly strengthen all energetic bodies ~ the connection of body, emotion, mind, and spirit that keep you whole, that is your wholeness, that is your expression of the human you. So, Dear Ones, that is one tip for you ~ a reminder for some and a poignant point for others.

2. The next tips is to do that which brings you passion. Yes, even in a weakened immune state, find a way to connect with a hobby, a treasured pet, or activity. This connects you to joy and creativity energy, to the spirit within ~ which, therefore, naturally aligns you to the spirit with’out’…the spirit in all living things, the spirit of all consciousness, the spirit of you. Many don’t feel up to or feel they have time for a creative hobby when they are not feeling their wellest, but may we remind you ~ this is a surefire way to bring you balance, back into your state of wholeness, which enables you then when well and rested to get back to daily routines, daily chores, and requirements.

And you see Loved Ones, had you not departed from your sense of wholeness, from your passionate expression of who you are ~ you would not have succumbed to un-ease at all. But we say this not for others, for you, to find fault within. We say this to encourage your greater harmony, your greater expression of truth and the love and light that you are.

So be well Dear Children, be well within, be well and be wise to the words and deeds of truth. Your healing and your optimal living and joy are always held with the ultimate focus, support and attention by the Lords, the Angels and All That Is.
