Explore Potential Changes

free meditationIf you’re considering a significant change in your life, here is an exercise from spiritual teacher Dick Sutphen that has benefited me greatly over the years. It can assist you in deeply exploring the situation and motivating yourself to take action where it’s of benefit.

Set about 20 minutes aside, and begin by getting yourself in a relaxed, meditative state. Have the intention of connecting with your Higher Self, and answer the following questions, jotting down anything that comes to mind without censoring yourself:

  • To change is to risk, and behind every risk, is a fear of loss of love, loss of control, loss of material possessions, or loss of self-esteem. Which fear applies to the change you are considering?
  • What is the clear purpose of your desire?
  • Often people do not pursue changes until the fear of doing so, is exceeded by the pain of not doing so. How does this relate to your situation? Explore the potential pain of making the change, opposed to continuing to live your life exactly as it is.
  • If you are keeping one foot in the safety zone, refusing to move forward into this change, what do you need to do to make it alright with yourself to act, to take the risk?
  • What is the worst that could happen if you go ahead and make this change, and it does not work out?
  • What is the best that could happen if you go ahead and make the change, and it works out wonderfully?
  • Is the potential loss greater than the potential gain?
  • Who else would like to see you make this change?
  • Who would prefer you did not make this change?
  • If you’re afraid in regard to making this change, what is holding you back?
  • If you make this change, will it result in a more honest and freer life?
  • If you make this change, could it improve the quality of your life?
  • Take a few moments to visualize this change, if everything works out as best as can be.
  • Is this what you want to happen…yes or no?
  • If you do want to make this change in your life, it’s time to call out to the positive powers of the Universe and ask for their assistance in manifesting this change in your life. Commit to acting. You can’t grow without taking chances. And if you’ve decided to make this change in your life, don’t sit back and wait for the perfect moment to act, as it almost never comes. Commit to acting immediately.

Every day is a fresh opportunity to begin again and create the changes our hearts desire.

With love,
Kerri McCutcheon

Lighting the Way Forward

InnerVitality ~ Lighting the Way ForwardWe are pleased to share a beautiful excerpt from LuminEssence with you:

You may be sensing changes that you want to make in your life to experience more joy and wholeness. You may feel a call to expand and grow, to reach others with your work, and to follow your higher path….

The energy present lights up new paths and directions. This new light reaches deep into your heart and brings the desires and dreams of your soul and Higher Self to consciousness. It lights up those things that are not of your soul so you will feel less energy or desire to do them…. It can stimulate your desire to start living your dreams and to follow your joy. You may be sensing that something better exists, something you could be doing that would bring you so much aliveness and joy that you could not wait to get up in the morning and begin the day. It is only when you know and live your life purpose that you have the joy, aliveness, and inner peace that makes it possible to know and to live as your soul.

Knowing and living your life purpose does not mean that you have to change your job or make any outer changes. When you know your purpose, the same activities that once felt boring or draining can take on all new meaning, and you can feel a sense of joy and aliveness in doing them….

To find the joy that is in this wave is to surrender to and follow your joy…. You deserve to have a life that fulfills you at your deepest levels. It is also important to love yourself for what you have already created. Take a moment to reflect on all you have done, and to appreciate yourself for coming as far as you have.*

InnerVitality invites you to intend positive inner change and fresh new beginnings in the days ahead. As Esther and Jerry Hicks so beautifully write, “When a desire is focused within you, the summoning of Creative Life Force immediately begins to flow toward your desire ~ and the Universe expands. And that is good.”

Inspiration for New Beginnings: Being Stuck is an Illusion

A new year, and a great time to focus on new beginnings in our lives!

Inspiration for New Beginnings, Being Stuck is an Illusion ~ InnerVitalityThat which one sees as a blockage in their life, certainly does become so ~ in their experience. But, remember, we only think we are stuck, when in fact we are simply choosing the same reaction a multitude of times. Make a slightly altered reaction or choice, which may seem insignificant at the time, and you will cause a chain of events that could lead to a whole cascade of changes…as positive momentum continues to build and new ideas, enthusiasm and synchronicities (which are positive signs and omens really) begin to unfold.

Carolyn Myss sums this up nicely,

Personal empowerment begins with small choices that set enormous changes in motion: To change one small habit, for example, is to bring an entirely different flow of energy and thus, power, into your life. That energy, in turn, adds to the quality of thoughts and inspiration in your mind, body, and spirit, allowing for a different current of ideas and creativity. One positive action can create an entirely new life.

Your first small change could be choosing a positive statement or affirmation when negative mind chatter says, “I’m stuck”…or could entail buying a new journal if you’re an aspiring writer. It could be organizing your home if you are for instance feeling financially strapped ~ it may appear completely unrelated, but any inward or outward change that makes you feel good about your environment or self, that gives you comfort, joy or hope is a step forward in making any new beginning in your life.

Break your goal down to one step at a time, and enjoy your journey. Congratulate yourself for each step forward you take…for you are CREATING it…YOU are the master of your life. You are a magnificent creator!
